GAS-BAG UNIT FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
It is provided a gas-bag unit for a motor vehicle, having an inflatable gas bag which comprises at least two material layers that are fastened to one another by means of a circumferential seam in such a manner that the at least two material layers surround a gas-bag interior. A first portion of the gas bag is folded down to form a fold in such a manner that a first portion of the circumferential seam, which is located in the first portion of the gas bag, and the first portion of the gas bag are separated from the gas-bag interior by the fold.
AIRBAG AND METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF AIRBAG
Provided is an airbag which can be easily manufactured though it is provided with a tether inside, and has a reduced fear of gas leakage from a joint region. The airbag includes a joint region of outer circumferential edges of a pair of walls. The joint region includes, between the outer circumferential edges of the pair of walls, a sealing member which has elasticity, and has adhesiveness in an unsolidified state. The joint region is formed by such a sewing that runs a sewing thread through an application area of the sealing member. A tether connects the pair of walls. The joint region includes a region in which the sealing member has a solidified, thus non-adhesive surface, and is pressed against at least one of the walls by the non-adhesive surface, and penetrated by the sewing thread in that state.
GAS BAG FOR AN AIRBAG MODULE
It is provided a gas bag which is inflatable for the protection of a vehicle occupant, comprising: a first gas bag layer and a second gas bag layer, wherein a first fabric blank forms the first gas bag layer and a second fabric blank forms the second gas bag layer, wherein the first fabric blank and the second fabric blank each are woven from threads. The gas bag includes at least one elongate portion which extends along a longitudinal direction and which is formed by at least a part of the first gas bag layer and at least a part of the second gas bag layer.
Air-bags
An air-bag for a motor vehicle is formed from first and second superposed layers of fabric, each woven from a plurality of yarns. The layers of fabric are connected to each other at least partially through interweaving of the yarns of the two layers with each other. The air-bag includes at least one inflatable region, in which the two layers of fabric are substantially not connected to each other, and at least one non-inflatable region. There is a first number of crossing points of yarns that form the one layer of fabric, and there is a second number of connections between the two layers, wherein at each connection a yarn of the layer of fabric extends across to the other layer and passes over the far side of the a yarn of the other layer, and wherein the second number is no more than 0.0033 times the first number.
VEHICLE SEATS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES
It is provided a vehicle seat for a motor vehicle, comprising a gas bag inflatable for the protection of a vehicle occupant, which in the inflated condition extends on a side of the vehicle seat facing a vehicle interior; and a retaining element via which the gas bag is connected with a backrest frame of the vehicle seat. There is further provided at least one fastening structure molded to the retaining element, via which a positive connection of the retaining element with the backrest frame exists.
AIRBAG DEVICE
Coupling spots are properly protected upon reception of gas pressure. A seam is possessed as a partition that partitions the interior of an airbag, and the seam is a coupling spot along which a frontal-side base fabric and a backside base fabric are coupled to each other. First and second reinforcing fabrics are provided on inner sides of the frontal-side base fabric and the backside base fabric, and the first and second reinforcing fabrics have remaining margins that are oriented toward the gas supply side in the downward direction rather than toward the seam, and each of the remaining margins functions as a shield wall against a flow of gas toward the seam.
AIRBAG WITH ATTACHMENT FOR A GAS GENERATOR
An airbag (1) including two opposing side walls (3) a lower wall (4) and an upper wall (5) forming an inflation opening (2) and a front wall (6). The airbag (1) is formed by sections of a one-part cut fabric (7). The upper wall (5) or the lower wall (4) is formed by two sections (8) of the cut fabric (7) along a connection (9), wherein the cut fabric (7) is folded and only the upper wall (5) or only the lower wall (4) is formed from two sections (8) and from the inflation opening (2) one connection (9) of the one-part cut fabric (7) extends toward the front wall (6). The one-part cut-fabric (7) forms a fitting section (10) for a gas generator. In a flatly extended state the fitting section (1) is adjacent to the two sections (8) forming lower wall (4) or the upper wall (5).
Airbag
An airbag, especially for a vehicle occupant restraint system, in the inflated condition includes a front side (112) forming the occupant impact surface and an opposite rear side (114), wherein the cover portions (102a, 102b, 102c) forming the front side (112) and the rear side (114) are interconnected at their longitudinal edges (110). Along a center line (M) of the respective side extending in the longitudinal direction of the airbag (100) the front side (112) is longer than the rear side (114) so that in the inflated condition the airbag (100) takes a curved shape. The front side (112) and, resp., the rear side (114) includes at least one connecting line (108) substantially extending transversely to the center line (M) at which two cover portions (102a, 102c) are interconnected, wherein at least one of the cover portions (102a) in the cut includes a boundary contour (104) concavely or convexly extending transversely to the center line (M).
Airbag device
An airbag of an airbag device for a driver seat has a front panel and a back panel. In the airbag having undergone spontaneous inflation, when a size between a securing position of the airbag to a retainer member and the most protruding portion of the airbag with respect to the securing position is set as 1, the most protruding portion by the back panel is located at a position spaced from the securing position by 0.5 or greater, a diameter of the inflated airbag of an opposing portion to an inner surface of the wheel is 0.6 to 1.2 times as large as an inner diameter of the wheel, and a diameter of the inflated airbag of a joint portion of the front panel and the back panel is greater than the diameter of the inflated airbag of the opposing portion to the inner surface of the wheel.
INFLATABLE AIRBAG FOR PROTECTING A PERSON, AND AIRBAG MODULE, VEHICLE PARTS AND VEHICLE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM HAVING SUCH AN AIRBAG
The invention relates to an inflatable airbag (1) for the protection of a person comprising a flexible sheath (10) which comprises at least two fingerlike extensions (11), wherein the flexible sheath (10) delimits a closed gas expansion chamber by the fingerlike extensions (11). The invention excels by the fact that the fingerlike extensions (11) are connected, especially stitched, glued or welded, to each other so that in an inflated state the airbag (1) takes a three-dimensional shape. The invention further relates to an airbag module, a vehicle occupant restraint system as well as vehicle parts comprising such airbag.
