Associative polymers herein described have a non-polar backbone and functional groups presented at ends of the non-polar backbone, with a number of the functional groups presented at the ends of the non-polar backbone formed by associative functional groups capable of undergoing an associative interaction with another associative functional group with an association constant (k) such that the strength of each associative interaction is less than the strength of a covalent bond between atoms and in particular less than the strength of a covalent bond between backbone atoms.
Method for producing polymerization-reactive liquid formulation
A mixing head 3 which mixes a first preparative liquid formulation containing a norbornene-based monomer with a second preparative liquid formulation containing a metathesis polymerization catalyst includes a casing 4, a cap 7, and a mixing rotor 6. A plurality of protrusions 622 includes first protrusions 622a having a width in the axial direction of the mixing rotor 6 larger than that in the circumferential direction, and second protrusions 622b having a width in the axial direction of the mixing rotor 6 smaller than that in the circumferential direction. First and second protrusion rows 623a and 623b are alternately arranged, the first protrusion rows 623a being formed of the first protrusions 622a aligned at a predetermined interval, the second protrusion rows 623b being formed of the second protrusions 622b aligned at a predetermined interval.
ASSOCIATIVE POLYMERS FOR USE IN A FLOW AND RELATED COMPOSITIONS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS
Described herein are associative polymers capable of controlling a physical and/or chemical property of non-polar compositions that can be used when the non-polar composition is in a flow, and related compositions, methods and systems. Associative polymers herein described have a non-polar backbone with a longest span having a molecular weight that remains substantially unchanged under the flow conditions and functional groups presented at ends of the non-polar backbone, with a number of the functional groups presented at the ends of the non-polar backbone formed by associative functional groups capable of undergoing an associative interaction with another associative functional group with an association constant (k) such that the strength of each associative interaction is less than the strength of a covalent bond between atoms and in particular less than the strength of a covalent bond between backbone atoms.

IRON-CATALYZED METATHESIS POLYMERIZATION OF OLEFINS
This invention is directed to iron-based complexes, and uses thereof for catalytic olefin metathesis reaction, including ring opening metathesis polymerization of olefins.
Longer-lived ruthenium olefin metathesis catalysts supported by hemi-labile carbene ligands
Contemplated subject matter disclosed herein relates generally to organometallic olefin metathesis catalysts, and more particularly to longer-lived olefin metathesis catalysts supported by hemi-labile carbene ligands that bear an arm with one or more donor ligands, as well as the use of such catalysts in metathesis reactions of olefins and olefin compounds. The contemplated subject matter has utility in the fields of catalysis, organic synthesis, polymer chemistry, and industrial and fine chemicals chemistry. This contemplated subject matter serves to reduce the cost of olefin metathesis (OM) processes including in olefin metathesis polymerizations, conversion of vegetable oils into chemicals, and processes in the petrochemical industry. This contemplated subject matter reduces the cost of OM processes by providing OM catalysts that are longer-lived and lead to higher turnover numbers, hence requiring less catalyst to convert a given amount of substrate(s). Considering that the OM catalyst is the most expensive part of some OM processes, longer-lived OM catalysts have the benefit of reducing the overall cost of the OM processes.
